O&O SpeedCheck simulates your Windows system in a fragmented and defragmented state.
It reads test data from the hard drive rather than writing to the disk. The process is split into two phases: simulated reading of files that are fragmented, and simulated reading of the same files had they been defragmented.
It can give you an idea of a performance boost you can get from a file system that is not fragmented.
