You can choose a Quick Erase option which will manipulate the disc to appear blank, and therefore allow you to write over other data. Alternatively, you can opt for a Full Erase method, which takes longer but will over-write the entire surface of the disc with a neutral pattern, preventing the data from being later recovered.
