Voxengo r8brain is a tool you can use to make high quality sample rate conversions of WAV files.
Uncompressed WAV files can be recorded at sample rates of 48000Hz or 96000Hz, but a lot of the time they need to be converted down to 44100Hz before being encoded to MP3, to ensure higher quality of the outcome.
Voxengo r8brain does exactly that, converting it to 44100Hz before being transferred to CD or encoded as a digital file.
Batch processing is also supported, for those with a lot of content to downconvert.
